Giveaway: Nicholas Sparks -Safe Haven
Films based on Nicholas Sparks' best-selling novels is quickly becoming its own genre in the movie world. Ever since 1999's Message in a Bottle, audiences have rejoiced and wept with the author's tales of romance and the human spirit. Here, we'll count down his top adaptations for the big screen, including the latest – Safe Haven!
Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough star in this spellbinding romantic drama based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook). When a mysterious, beautiful woman named Katie (Hough), moves to Southport, North Carolina, she sparks the interest of the locals, especially Alex (Duhamel), a handsome widower. Although she is attracted to Alex, Katie is reluctant to trust him – that is, until a new friend (Cobie Smulders) convinces her to give Alex a chance. But before long, a dark secret from Katie’s past threatens her happiness in this thrilling romance directed by Lasse Hallström (Dear John).
A Walk to Remember
Starring Mandy Moore as the dark-haired Jamie Sullivan, A Walk to Remember stirred hearts on and off the big screen with the novel and popular soundtrack featuring Moore and Switchfoot. Jamie's the goodie two-shoes in town who is forced to hang out with bad boy Landon Carter (Shane West) when he is summoned to community service. With nothing in common but the school play, the two learn from one another and grow closer unexpectedly until a life-changing secret comes to light.

The Notebook
You can't think “Nicholas Sparks” and not think of The Notebook, the most memorable and most successful of the Sparks flicks. It launched Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams into super-stardom and changed many a young girls' look on love. Allie (McAdams) and Noah (Gosling) meet one fateful night at a carnival and quickly fall for the other but are torn apart by class and her parents' disapproval. But as much as everyone tries to keep them apart, they keep finding their way back together.

While home on leave, soldier John Tyree (Channing Tatum) falls for the conservative college student, Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried). The Lucky One
The Lucky One stars Zac Efron as Logan, a marine serving in Iraq, who credits his survival to a woman in a photo he happened upon in his possession. Once back in the states, he decides to find this mystery lady (named Beth and played by Taylor Schilling) and locates her in Louisiana. After a minor case of mistaken identity, he takes up a job at her family's dog kennel business. As the two grow closer, Logan knows he must tell her the truth.

Safe Haven
Katie (Julianne Hough) is trying to escape her torrid past and lands in a small seaside town in North Carolina. She buys a house and starts over, keeping busy with a job at a local diner and remodeling her home. Alex (Josh Duhamel) immediately finds himself drawn to the new beauty, but she keeps him at a safe distance since she doesn't want to involve anyone in what she's running from. But his kids also take a liking to her, and it's hard for her to avoid them all in the small town for long.
