Mouse Of Zen (Book Review)

Mouse Of Zen
book review

No matter who you are, at some point in your life Disney has entered your thoughts.
Maybe you have been to Disney World as a child, seen a Disney movie, heard a Disney song, or taken the family on a wonderful vacation to Disney World. However you have been connected to Disney, you know that is it a "Magical" connection.

About a month ago, I had the pleasure of reading the book Mouse of Zen by J.B. Conway. His wonderful book is composed of 350 haiku poems. A haiku poem is a form of Japanese poetry composed of 17 syllables broken down into 3 phrases of 5, 7,5 (syllables). J.B Conway does a fantastic job at bringing out the Disney in all of our hearts.

It's very hard to choose my favorite haiku from the book, but some of the ones I love for different reasons are:

#58
brick by brick
he built a kingdom
history

This puts Walt Disney's dream into a simple haiku.

#285
she swallowed rainbows
singing songs with no sound
a sleeping beauty

Anyone who knows me, knows that I just love Sleeping Beauty!

J.B. Conway will be at the Disney World resort "The Beach Club" on October 11, 2010! If you would like to meet him, he will be available to sign your copy of Mouse of Zen at "Beaches and Cream" (ice cream shoppe) during the later evening. Follow @mouseofzen on Twitter for more details!

Now, for the perfect combo, J.B.Conway has teamed up with John Knell of KnellStudioWorks to bring more life to the already "mind intoxicating" haiku poems. They are currently working on a second book! John's work can be found on Mouse of Zen front/back cover of the original book. It will not disappoint!
